Ocimum basilicum
Family: Lamiaceae
A vigorous purple variety with rubin red colored under leaves . Hence the name "Rubin". Originally it became the substitute for opal purple basil, a darker purple strain with less vigor. So it's actually a reddish purple strain. Very nice plants, sweet leaves, lovely flowers. Plants last all season and provide good quality fresh cuts if kept up with.
