Rutgers is a fine open pollinated slicing tomato. AKA Jersey tomato as it was introduced in 1934 from Rutgers University. It was highly regarded as one of the best strains across the country before the insurgence of modern hybrids. It really does live up to its reputation for flavor and productivity.
