Helianthus annuus
Family: Asteraceae
Vigorous open-pollinated polyhead cross to 7 ft. with a multitude of colorful bloom traits. Many are double petaled, portraying the tiger's eye look. The name was given back in 1995 when we started planting lines of Alan Kapuler's crosses. Now it's a beautiful mix that lines our fields' borders. And yes, every fall we invite the redwing blackbirds to another feast.
