Phaseolus vulgaris,
Rich, creamy, high protein pinto style beans. Early Spanish settlers brought this bean to North America from Mexico three hundred years ago. Classified as a bush half runner, the traditional cultivar is a Santa Fe Market favorite. We obtained the seed stock from our friend Jared Haygood of Lineage Seeds in Northern New Mexico where it's still grown widely by a multi demographic of small scale organic farmers. With its roots in New Mexico it displays a decent amount of drought tolerance ~ plants ripen uniformly and are easy to shell. Bolita,s make an exceptional pot of creamy beans.
