Cucurbita pepo
Heirloom.
A bush-type heirloom producing vibrant golden, scallop-shaped fruits with excellent flavor. Perfect for season-long harvests—best picked small and tender for stir-fries or grilling.
Gold Pattypan produces a golden, "scallop" shaped fruit that tastes great and is eaten just like a zucchini. Plants are bush-type (non-vining) and grow about 3 feet tall and up to 5 feet wide. Long harvest period. Gold color makes them easy to find among the green foliage. Gold Scallopinis are vigorous, productive and less attractive to squash bugs than other varieties. For most tender harvest fruits at 2-3 inches in diameter and a more translucent yellow.
