MASA Seed Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, works to grow a healthier food system for Colorado — one seed, one harvest, one local community at a time.  We grow and share nutritious food, climate-resilient seeds, and knowledge that help our communities thrive while caring for land organically and regeneratively.

  • Through our Farm to Food Bank program, MASA delivers fresh, local produce to nine food hubs and pantries across the Front Range, reaching thousands of families every year. We also supply organic seeds and plant starts to community gardens and small growers who bring fresh food to low-access neighborhoods.
  • Our developing regional Seed Bank preserves heirloom and heritage seed varieties adapting to Colorado’s alluvial soils and unique climate. By combining seed stewardship with respectful and contemporary farming practices, MASA strengthens both our food supply and our ecosystem.
  • Education is central to our mission: we teach volunteers, students, and farmers how to grow food sustainably, rebuild soil health, and support biodiversity.

“The produce from MASA is nothing short of amazing. The freshness and variety help us ensure families can access healthy, farm-fresh food.”— Kaleigh Wagner, Community Food Share

Founded by seed pioneer Richard Pecoraro, MASA continues a 30-year legacy of organic seed work that began with the nation’s first non-hybrid seed company, Seeds of Change. Today, we carry that vision forward in Colorado’s Front Range — feeding our neighbors, restoring the soil, and keeping our region’s seeds, organic farms, and families strong.
